Friends of the Columbia Gorge
The Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area comprises approximately 293,000 acres along 85 miles of the Columbia River in Washington and Oregon. Friends of the Columbia Gorge works to protect and enhance the resources of the Gorge through advocacy and stewardship. The SFF supported a program focused on recovery of Gorge lands following the destructive 2017 Eagle Creek fire. Work parties led by key volunteers removed invasive plants in areas particularly damaged by the fire; 59 work parties including 530 volunteers donated over 2,000 hours and planted nearly 2,800 native plants while removing over 6,700 pounds of invasive species.
